It's difficult
to concentrate when you are tired or hungry. That's why a balanced meal--one
that contains protein (like dairy products, lean meats or soy), complex carbohydrates
(like whole grains or veggies) and good fats (like nuts or avocados)--can
actually keep your body and mind fueled longer. Next time you feel drained
in the late morning or late afternoon, ask yourself what you ate at your last
meal. Did it contain an ideal balance?
This week's challenge: Make sure all your breakfasts and lunches contain
the "power trio" of protein, complex carbohydrates and a little
bit of "good fats."
